Lead Pastor
Dear Prospective Pastoral Candidate,
Destination Pointe Church (DPC) is prayerfully seeking the man God is calling to serve as our next Pastor. God called us together as a church family 16 years ago, and by His grace we follow Him and strive to be more like Him every day. We currently have 35+ members and many regular attendees. We have a heart for connecting people to Christ, encouraging and equipping families to build their lives on Him, and serving our community in His name. We desire to be a church that not only grows together in faith but actively lives on mission to reach our community for Christ. We strive to be a faithful church—rooted in Scripture, marked by love, and committed to making disciples.
DPC is nestled in a family-centered community including the Calallen and Tuloso-Midway areas, as well as the surrounding rural communities. Schools are a central hub of life with high parent involvement and community engagement, rich in sports tradition, and highly rated academically. We are culturally diverse with many having deep family roots, multigenerational households, and bilingual communication. Our area includes city and rural residents, families with young children and retirees, those who know of Jesus but do not have a church home and others who have never truly understood the gospel. Many profess belief in God but lack consistent discipleship or meaningful connection to a local church. We believe God has placed us here with purpose.
We believe God is calling a Spirit-filled, relational shepherd, faithful Bible teacher, and a unity-minded leader—one who will guide us with humility, wisdom, and a heart aligned with God’s purposes for our church. Key expectations include:
1. Devote his life to following Jesus Christ, being called and equipped by God as evidenced by his faithful and fruitful ministry, exercising the Spiritual gifts of Pastor and Teacher. (Ephesians 4:11-12).
2. Model spiritual maturity, moral character, accountability, humility, and a servant’s heart.
(1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-3).
3. Commit to the inerrancy and authority of the Bible, being transformed by God’s Word himself, able to effectively preach and teach the Bible clearly and expositionally through weekly Sunday services and Bible studies.
4. Desire to shepherd his flock and provide pastoral care for church members—loving people more than programs, building relationships with families, and discipling both new and mature believers.
5. Encourage and equip leaders within the church body for ministry, with a passion for the lost and commitment to reaching our community for Christ.
If you feel led to explore this opportunity further, please submit a résumé, brief statement of faith, and sample preaching messages to destinationpointe@gmail.com. We trust that God is already preparing the man He will call to lead our church, and we are committed to seeking His will and timing throughout this process.
In Christ,
