Job Title: Director of Music & Young Adult Ministry Reports To: Senior Pastor Position Type: Full-Time (Exempt) Estimated Time Split: 50% Music Ministry / 20% Media & Communications / 30% Young Adult Ministry Position Summary The Director of Music & Young Adult Ministry is a dynamic, multi-faceted leadership role. This individual will lead our congregation in biblical worship, oversee all technical and digital communications for the church, and pioneer a vibrant ministry for young adults. Primary Responsibilities 1. Music & Worship Ministry (50%) Music Leadership: Serve as the primary praise and worship leader for Sunday morning services, midweek gatherings, and special ministry events. Service Planning: Collaborate with the Senior Pastor to design cohesive weekend services. Team Development: Recruit and train volunteer musicians, vocalists, and choir. Rehearsal Management: Plan and lead weekly instrumental and vocal rehearsals. 2. Media, Tech & Communications (20%) A/V/L Oversight: Manage all audio, visual, and lighting needs for Sunday services and special church-wide and youth events. Train and manage a reliable rotation of tech volunteers to assist in the ministry. Digital Presence: Maintain and regularly update the church website to ensure accurate information and an inviting digital front door.* Social Media Management: Partner with staff to create and schedule engaging content across the church’s social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram) to communicate events, share sermon highlights, and build community.* Equipment Maintenance: Manage the upkeep, repair, and future purchasing of A/V equipment, software, and musical instruments. *Training can be provided as needed. 3. Young Adult Ministry (30%) Vision & Strategy: Develop a vision and roadmap for a new young adult ministry (ages 18–30), particularly focusing on local college students and young professionals. Community Building: Plan and coordinate regular gatherings, Bible studies, and social events. Discipleship & Care: Provide pastoral care and mentorship to young adults. Integration: Actively recruit young adults to serve across the church. And other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience 3+ years of related experience preferred Qualifications & Skills Spiritual Maturity: A clear testimony of faith and theological alignment with the church who affirms the Baptist Faith & Message. Musical Proficiency: Strong vocal ability and instrumental proficiency for leading worship and ensembles. Worship Planning: Knowledge of planning Scripture-based worship services. Technical Acumen: Proficiency with Planning Center, ProPresenter, Capcut, Google Suites, and basic audio/visual technology, or ability to learn. Digital Communications: Experience with website management and social media strategy. Leadership & Delegation: A proven track record of recruiting and keeping volunteers. (This person cannot do all the tech, music, and pastoral work alone.) Personal History: Willingness to complete background screening. Accountability This position reports directly to the Senior Pastor and collaborates closely with church staff and members. Annual performance reviews will evaluate spiritual health, ministry effectiveness, and leadership development. Compensation Salary: $55,000–$65,000 (based on experience and education).
