Children’s Pastor FBC Marble Falls Updated: 2/23/2026 Primary Purpose The Children’s Pastor provides spiritual, visionary, and administrative leadership for Christian education and discipleship for children from birth through 5th grade. This position loves and disciples children, recruits and equips volunteers and staff, strengthens family discipleship, leads community outreach, and oversees children’s ministries. Spiritual Expectations and Qualifications Spiritual Expectations Demonstrates a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Affirms and supports the church’s doctrinal beliefs and ministry philosophy. Models Christ-like character and leadership. Demonstrates a calling to children’s and family ministry. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; ministry or education preferred. Children’s ministry leadership experience preferred. Ability to recruit, equip, and supervise volunteers and staff. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Understanding of childhood development and discipleship principles. Ministry Responsibilities Leadership, Volunteer Development, and Training Create, promote, maintain, and organize a comprehensive vision for children’s discipleship. Recruit, train, and support volunteers for Bible teaching, discipleship programs, VBS, and special ministry events. Provide leadership training opportunities and ministry resources. Work cooperatively with church leadership, staff, and committees. Program Planning and Ministry Coordination Provide leadership for all children’s Bible teaching and discipleship ministries (birth – 5th grade). Plan and coordinate seasonal programs, fellowships, special ministry events, and community outreach. Provide effective ministry for key age specific areas: preschool, elementary, and pre-teen. Coordinate ministry scheduling and facility usage with other staff. First Baptist Church Marble Falls Maintain curriculum resources and children’s ministry materials. Submit budget requests and steward approved ministry funds. Encourage and resource parental involvement in children’s spiritual development. Develop and evaluate discipleship strategies for children and families. Family Discipleship and Outreach Equip parents as primary spiritual leaders of their children. Work alongside the Young Adult Discipleship Pastor to reach and disciple children and families. Help connect and plug-in new and visiting families to our church. Administration and Supervision Supervise the Children’s Ministry Associate / Childcare Supervisor. Oversee the Child Development Center (CDC), supervise the CDC Director and the Financial Director to ensure healthy ministry operations. Evaluate paid staff and provide leadership to volunteers. Maintain ministry procedures and operational documentation. Child Safety and Ministry Compliance Ensure compliance with all child protection and safety policies. Oversee volunteer screening, training, and safety procedures. Ensure regulatory compliance for children’s ministries and the CDC. Communication and Church Leadership Participation Communicate ministry opportunities and vision to parents, volunteers, and church members. Maintain ministry records and utilize church management systems. Participate in staff meetings, ministry planning, and church-wide initiatives. Perform other ministry-related duties as assigned.
