RENACER PASTOR JOB DESCRIPTION DIRECT SUPERVISOR: FBCL SENIOR PASTOR CLASSIFICATION: CO-VOCATIONAL/BI-VOCATIONAL, EXEMPT PRINCIPAL FUNCTION: The Renacer Pastor is responsible for preaching, teaching, pastoral care, visitation, training members to become teachers and leaders in Renacer, and developing and communicating his vision for the congregation. QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION: The Renacer Pastor must be a man of prayer and faith with a vision of hope for the Hispanic community. He must be bi-lingual in Spanish and English. Although his preaching, teaching, and training of others primarily will be in Spanish, he must be able to communicate well in English with Renacer members, FBCL staff, and others in the FBCL congregation. A degree in theology or a related field is preferred. General Job Description: • Develop a preaching and teaching ministry for Sundays and mid-week, proclaiming the Word of God and making prayer a vital part of the ministry. • Develop a strategy for reaching the Hispanic community, making this evangelism outreach a main priority. • Pursue continuing education through accredited courses to grow in knowledge and effectiveness as a teacher and minister (required if no degree is currently held). Courses may be paid for through Renacer budget. • Know the congregation as a shepherd knows his sheep, being concerned for their health and well-being, both spiritual and physical. Visit the sick at home and in the hospital. • Make personal visits and contacts of prospects regularly. Develop a visitation program in which other members of the congregation will be involved. • Develop weekly discipleship training. Train others to teach small groups and take other church leadership responsibilities. • Vision: Seek God’s vision and goals for Renacer, leading the congregation to understand and eagerly support. • Coordinate with the Renacer Leadership Commission in planning and accomplishing the goals. Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week on an annual 52-week schedule. Meeting with FBCL Senior Pastor/Associate Pastor: meeting once a month, determined jointly at a time available for team members. (1 hour) Meeting with Renacer Leadership Commission: meeting once a month, determined jointly at a time available for team members. (1 hour) Sunday Worship and other Worship Services: Yes Occasional Evenings and Weekends: Yes Dress code: Appropriate professional (business casual) attire is required Marginal Job Functions: Other duties as assigned.
