Independence Baptist Church is a Christ-centered congregation of approximately 30-50 people on a typical Sunday, located in the small community of Independence, Texas, about 12 miles north of Brenham, Texas and 90 miles north of Houston, Texas. We are a church family committed to biblical teaching, discipleship, worship, missions, and serving our community, and aligned with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). We are prayerfully seeking a full-time Pastor who will faithfully preach and teach the whole counsel of God's Word, shepherd our congregation, disciple believers, reach our community, and provide strong spiritual leadership as we enter our next season of ministry. Along with being the full-time pastor to our church the position also includes being the curator for the Texas Baptist Historical Museum, located across the street from the church. The museum is under the direction of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. This dual position comes with a parsonage on site along with a full benefit package. Résumés and initial application materials should be sent to lvalerius49@yahoo.com or mailed to Independence Baptist Church, 10400 FM 50, Brenham, TX 77833. The Pastor Search Team will prayerfully review submissions and contact selected candidates to request additional information and outline next steps.
