Job Summary: Park Lake Drive Baptist Church is seeking a relational, Christ-centered leader to invest in the spiritual growth of middle and high school students. The Youth Pastor will cultivate meaningful relationships with students and their families, create welcoming spaces for discipleship and community, and develop volunteers who help make youth ministry sustainable and impactful. This position requires approximately 10-15 hours per week and is ideal for a seminary student, young ministry leader, or bi-vocational minister who is passionate about student discipleship and community engagement. General Duties: ● Create welcoming environments where middle and high school students can grow in faith, build authentic relationships, and engage in biblical discipleship ● Recruit, encourage, and support volunteers who serve with students ● Build meaningful relationships with students and their families ● Collaborate with church leaders to align youth ministry with the mission and vision of the church ● Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive ministry environment where all students feel known, valued, and supported Weekly Responsibilities: ● Lead student ministry gatherings on Sunday mornings and one additional weekly gathering ● Teach or coordinate biblically grounded lessons and discussions ● Communicate regularly with students, families, and volunteers ● Intentionally engage students outside scheduled programming when possible through school events, community activities, and informal gatherings ● Meet regularly with pastoral staff for support, planning, and encouragement Additional Responsibilities: ● Plan and lead retreats, service projects, fellowship events, and outreach opportunities throughout the year ● Lead and develop student leaders and create opportunities for them to serve well ● Partner with church staff and volunteers to create a comprehensive ministry support plan for students and families ● Pursue ongoing spiritual and professional growth via outside opportunities such as conferences, seminars, book studies, and networking ● Assist the Pastoral staff in parent training and communication ● Lead a mission or service opportunity for students at least annually Personal Qualifications: ● Personal Character: Should have a genuine love for Christ and other people that is evident through an authentic, transparent, and Christ-centered lifestyle. Must be committed to growing in the spiritual disciplines and sharing their faith with others. Competencies: ● Team builder ● Self-starter ● Ability to delegate, train, and empower others ● Strong verbal and written communication skills ● Excellent relational skills ● Ability to lead and teach middle and high school students ● Ability to work collaboratively with parents, volunteers, and church staff ● Organizational skills ● Proficiency with social media and basic technology Hours and Compensation: ● Part-time position averaging 10-15 hours per week ● Annual Stipend: $7,500 ● Housing provided through the church's Mission House (estimated value: approximately $16,000 annually), including participation in and support of the Mission House community. This housing benefit makes the position especially attractive to graduate students, ministry residents, and emerging ministry leaders.
