We are located in the Texas hill Country about an hour west of Austin, TX. We are a growing church in a growing area. We are apart of the Global Methodist Church. Compensation: $50,000 to $60,000 (depending on experience) with negotiable housing Job Summary: Develop and lead a disciple making ministry to the students (6th grade to 12th grade) of Marble Falls and the surrounding areas. Disciple meaning a person who displays marks of being involved in the study of scripture, engaged in spiritual formation practices, and is in service to the world to expand the kingdom. Accountable to: The Pastor of Family Ministries Education: Bachelor’s degree, Completion of Ministry certificate, or 3 years of related ministry experience (continuing education will be expected in all of these cases) Qualifications: - Clean background check and ability to complete ministry safe screenings (Social Media profiles will be screened in this process) - Current and valid Texas Driver’s License with a clean driving record - Completion of an internship or experience working with middle school/high school students (3 to 5 years experience working in ministry preferred) - Proficiency in using applicable technologies - Posses understanding and agreement with the doctrines and practices of the Global Methodist Church Skills: - Understanding of the balance between compassion and disciplinarian - Excellent communication skills with students and adults - Good public speaking skills - Ability to be a self starter within the framework of the vision for -Family ministries - Able to navigate crucial conversations and manage conflict - Understand and be able to navigate student culture - Organizational skills - Demonstrated spiritual maturity and pursuit of holiness - Ability to connect and form healthy relationships with middle school/high school students Responsibilities and Duties: - Pray for the students, families and leadership of the church. - Design and administer a program that produces students who show marks of being disciples in Christ for the expansion of the kingdom of God. - Organize and play a leadership role in student programs including Sunday School, Student Bible Studies, and Weekly Student Ministry times – Making sure program elements serve the purpose of disciple making and forming community - Evaluate and implement curriculum for student ministry - Recruit and help train volunteers for all Student ministry programs - Organize and supervise Confirmation Class annually - Perform Visitor Follow up - Provide experiences that foster spiritual formation and a calling to ministry Advocate for students to be leaders in worship and the larger church - Work with Student Ministry Team to design and plan youth retreats, mission opportunities, and outreach events, that provide space for students to encounter the Holy Spirit. - Know understand and execute the vision for the Family Ministries department as it relates to Middle/High School students - Chief advocate for the spiritual needs of the student ministry - Participate in the process, design and implementation of the vision, goals, and ministry of Church. - Participate in appropriate Church committee and staff meetings as directed by the Church’s leadership - Create and distribute timely communications to students and their parents including student ministry Newsletter, Website, Social media, etc., as appropriate - Engage in outreach to Church feeder schools: School & Activity - Visitations, school presence, sports, other - Develop and manage the budget for Student ministries - Participate in approved continuing education annually - Other duties assigned by the Pastoral staff
