Youth and Young Adult Pastor Job Summary The Youth/Young Adult Pastor (Y&YA Pastor) is responsible for the spiritual growth and development of the youth and young adults within the church. This includes planning and leading youth and young adult programs, fostering relationships with youth, young adults and families to grow in faith together. The (Y&YA) Pastor will recruit, support, maintain and build our youth and young adult ministries in collaboration with the Senior Pastor and ministry teams by creating a welcoming and Christ-centered environment where young people can grow in their faith. Supervisory Responsibilities This role is an individual contributor and does not have direct reports. This position will lead and manage volunteer teams. Key Responsibilities: 1. Spiritual Leadership Teach, mentor, and disciple youth through biblical teaching, group discussions, and personal relationships. Plan and lead weekly youth group meetings, Bible studies, and worship services. Encourage and facilitate youth participation in church-wide activities and services. 2. Program Development Plan and oversee special events such as retreats, mission trips, service projects, and social events. Develop and implement a strategic plan for the youth and young adult ministry aligned with the church’s vision and values. Ability to build a vibrant and innovative ministry that meets the needs of our youth and young adult population. Ensure a safe and engaging environment for all youth and young adult programs. 3. Relationship Building Be relatable and approachable to youth, young adults and to people of all ages with the ability to build trust and establish meaningful connections. Serve as a positive role model, mentor, and counselor to students. Provide pastoral care and support to youth and young adults facing life challenges. 4. Volunteer Management Recruit, train, and support a team of adult volunteers and youth leaders. Provide leadership development opportunities for youth leaders. 5. Administration Manage the youth and young adult ministry budget and resources. Maintain accurate records of participation and activities. Communicate regularly with church leadership, parents, and students via email, social media, or newsletters. Qualifications: A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to the authority of Scripture. A clear calling to youth ministry. Minimum 2 years of Youth and/or Young Adult leadership experience. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to relate to and connect with young people and their families. Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, or a related field (preferred). Agreement with the church’s statement of faith and doctrinal beliefs. Work Schedule: Flexible hours including evenings and weekends. Attendance at weekly church services and staff meetings is required.
