Family Worship Minister

The Family Worship Minister leads our children and students in worship both during regular programming and at special events, trips, and retreats. The Family Worship Minister will also work with our student musicians and tech volunteers to grow them both individually and as a team. This role is also a partner in ministry helping to fulfill the mission and vision of St. Andrew Methodist Church. Essential Functions Students • Plan and execute Sunday Student worship at both 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. • Assist with finding, equipping, and encouraging students and adults to help lead worship • Prepare weekly communication to all students and adults involved in volunteering. • Lead practice each week, particularly for our students. • Coordinate with the Production Services team to ensure proper use and upkeep of all equipment. • Disciple, train, mentor, and build up our student leaders. • Attend student events, games, and performances to show support for our students and create a St. Andrew presence outside of the church building. Children • During the school year, lead worship for Preschool Chapel • Ensure all musical and tech needs are covered for Sunday morning programming Additional Weekly Responsibilities: • Attend weekly staff meetings plus other meetings, staff events, and trainings as needed. • Be an available presence for students to come to for guidance and discipleship. • Track student contact work daily. • Participate as a leader in family ministry events. Special Event and Trip Responsibilities: • Plan and execute the worship element of all Children’s Ministry events, including recruiting volunteers. • Attend all Children’s Ministry events, unless coordinated with the Family Ministry Project Manager in advance. • Plan and execute the worship element of all Student Ministry events, including recruiting volunteers. • Attend all Student Ministry trips & events, unless coordinated with the Family Ministry Project Manager in advance. • Partner with the Music Associate for Families and the Director of Contemporary Worship for both church-wide events and special events Competencies • Have a heart for St. Andrew and support the vision and mission of the church • Love for seeing students have a real and authentic relationship with Jesus • Vocal and instrumental abilities • Knowledge and ability to set up worship tech • Comfortable meeting new people and making new relationships • Strong personal faith • Works well with a team and prioritizes team culture • Self-starter • Quick on their feet and capable of pivoting on the fly • Intuitive to the student experience • Relationally available for discipleship opportunities • Work well within a team setting • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Required Education and Experience • Required to have three or more years’ experience leading worship, in either a work or volunteer capacity • Required to have two or more years’ experience working with students, in either a work or volunteer capacity • Required to have High School diploma. Preferred to have a college degree and seminary degree
